We are very pleased to have Dr. Stephen Read to present his recent work (the poster and texts have been attached).
The title of his presentation is “Spacetime as strategy”.
He is interested in the concept of relationality and in building an understanding of the built environment which incorporates the activity and intentionality of people. He treats technology as being central to this incorporation but believes technology needs to be understood in a fully historical way, without privileging but also without overlooking contemporary technologies. He believes that relationality and the central role of technology are not new developments but are essential to the urban, so that basic urban concepts like, space, boundary and region need to be reviewed in the light of relational thinking.
