” Due to the ever-rising energy prices, household expense for energy consumption continuously increases. For the mid-low income families living in social housing, the energy bill is becoming an unaffordable burden. Many families have to sacrifice the thermal comfort to save their wallet. In some European countries, Passive House concept and technology are adopted gradually as an energy-efficient method for renovation and new construction, and have good results in some projects. Could the European experience work in East Asia? What particular problems should be solved while Passive House concept and technology are applied in designing and constructing energy-efficient housing in Soul and Beijing? Those are the questions to be answered. “
