“The Chair of Spatial Planning and Strategy is building on a rich tradition of analysis of urban development and spatial planning in global networked city regions like the Randstad. Our ambition is to become a leading centre and preferred partner for the study of complex urban regions, and particularly the cross-national comparison of models of strategic spatial planning and urban regeneration. We believe that the expertise and enthusiasm of our staff, PhD candidates and students should inform theoretical debate, but also be directed to the needs of policy makers and practitioners who are seeking real transformations. We will work with colleagues in the Department of Urbanism to provide a lively and challenging learning environment.”
